The minimum age requirement to enroll in Whitley County Drivers Training driving school is 15 years old.
At Whitley County Driving School, we understand the importance of providing quality driver education at an affordable price. We are proud to offer two convenient options for our students to choose from, ensuring that everyone can find the best fit for their needs and budget.
For those who prefer a traditional classroom setting, our in-class training program meets the 30-hour requirement set by the state of Indiana. Classes are scheduled every Monday & Tuesday from 5pm-8pm for a total of 5 weeks. A new class starts every month with experienced instructors and engaging curriculum, we strive to make this learning experience informative and enjoyable. Alongside the in-class training, students will also receive 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction to enhance their practical driving skills. The total cost for this all inclusive package is $425.00.
For those seeking a more flexible and convenient option, we have partnered with driversed.com to offer an online class that is Indiana State approved. This online course covers all the necessary materials required by the state and can be completed at your own pace. However, it is important to note that even with the online class, students will still need to complete the mandatory 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training. The cost for 6 hours of behind the wheel training is $395.00, providing an affordable alternative for those who prefer a more self-paced learning environment.
At WCDS, we believe that cost should never be a barrier to obtaining quality driver education. That is why we strive to offer competitive pricing without compromising on the quality of our programs. Whether you choose our in-class training or the online class option, you can trust that you will receive comprehensive instruction and valuable skills that will prepare you for a lifetime of safe and responsible driving.

At WCDS, we are pleased to offer sibling discounts to our students. The first student enrolls at full price, while all siblings receive an exclusive 15% discount on both In-class Course and driving fees. We understand the importance of making education accessible for families, and this discount is our way of supporting you in providing quality education for all your children.
Missed Drive Fee
When you reserve a driving appointment with a WCDS instructor, you are making a commitment to drive during that hour; if you cancel at the last minute, we most likely will not be able to fill it with another student and the time slot will be wasted.
Therefore, a $50 fee may be assessed if a scheduled drive is cancelled less than 24 hours in advance; or the student is not available at the specified location at the designated appointment time, declines to drive when the instructor arrives, or does not have the permit in hand (a picture of the permit is not sufficient.) Whitley County Driving School reserves the right to suspend driving sessions until Missed Drive fees are paid. Please call the office as soon as possible to discuss special circumstances, such as unexpected illness or emergency.
Drive Tests
Only students of Whitley County Driving School may do the final drive (road) test with our instructors; we do not offer drive tests to the general public. Due to insurance restrictions, we cannot rent our driver education cars for drive tests done at the BMV.
Refunds
A request for a refund must be made within 24 hours of payment being received by Whitley County Driving School. No refunds will be made if the student has received the official State CDE form signed by WCDS or has already begun driving with a WCDS instructor. Refunds will not be issued because the student chooses not to complete a portion or all of the program. Enrollment is non-transferable once official paperwork has been issued.
A $200 deposit is required to enroll. Once enrolled, a CDE form is given to the student. The CDE form is the form the BMV requires a driver education student to have to receive their permit. The deposit may be made by placing a check or money order in the mail, or we also accept any major credit card and will gladly send an invoice to be paid online.
You will need to bring your learner's permit, comfortable clothing and shoes (no sandals or open toed shoes), and any necessary vision correction devices (such as glasses or contact lenses). We will provide the vehicle for your driving lessons.
To pass the driving test, you need to demonstrate that you have a good understanding of the rules of the road, can operate the vehicle safely and confidently, and can make good driving decisions. Our instructors will provide you with the necessary training and guidance to help you pass the driving test.
